Every year, we American's make a list of resolutions. A list of things we want to accomplish or change over the coming year. For many of us, that list includes a pledge to lose weight, eat healthier, get in shape, etc. This year, as we enter into the 2nd decade of the 21st century, I am not making a resolution to do any of those things. Instead, I am making a commitment to myself, my family and to you that I am going to make a lifestyle change. It's time. I'll be 38 this year (next month, in fact). The purpose of this blog is to document my progress in this endeavor. I have a couple of goals in mind and in an effort to recruit you as my support, my accountability partners, I'm listing those goals here.
1 - To train for a triathlon.
2 - To participate in a Couch-2-5K (C25K) running class, starting in February.
3 - To engage in a healthier eating lifestyle.
4 - To join the YMCA and work out (swimming, biking, running, exercise class) at least 3 times a week.
5 - To participate in a triathlon in September.
As you'll see, I'm not making any specific weight loss goals. I've always been of a mind that weight is but a number. I want to FEEL better. I want to feel healthier. I want to feel better about the way I look, but also to accept that I will not look like a supermodel or movie star.
That's it. I'll try to post at least once a week. More if the mood strikes me.
Oh, and if you're wondering who Corra is... It's my pseudonym. It's Spanish for run.
