And away we go....

Saturday, Hubs & I took the kiddos to the Y.  We spent 30 minutes on the tread, then took the kiddos swimming.  I know Rocky & Rambo love the water, but I wasn't sure how Baby girl would react.  She loved it.  By the time we were ready to go she had started figuring out that if she waved her arms up & down she could splash.  It was the cutest thing.

Hubs is off today & tomorrow, so we hit the Y again this morning.  We had a 10a appointment for our fitness center orientation.  I learned about the upper body machines & we laid out a starter program to help build a little endurance & tone up.  Nothing too strenuous.  Followed that up with a mile on the tread & 10 minutes on the elliptical (that was brutal!) and rounded out the morning with some swimming with the kiddos again.

I'm about to head back for a spin class with one of my BFF's.  D is a veteran triathlete & really wants me to try one out with her this year.  So she's being super supportive & going to this class with me.  It might kill me.  I don't know.  I'll report back later.

Well, I survived the class.  It was hard, but not terrible.  And as long as I can build up at my own pace, I'll do it again.  The only thing I will say about the class... MY BUTT HURTS!!   OK, not so much my butt, more like my nether regions (sorry, TMI) ...  but bike seats HURT!!  I may be walking around like I'm about to drop a 10 lb bowling ball tomorrow.  D suggested padded bike shorts, as that's what she wears.  She says it helps a bit.

I'm considering a Yoga class in the morning with another friend, J.  Hubs has a class in the a.m., but if I can get all 3 kiddos fed, dressed & out the door by 9a, then I'll go.  I've never done Yoga either.  I'm doing all sorts of new things now.  I'm serious about this lifestyle change.  I have 3 very important reasons.  I want them to remember growing up with a fun, active mom.  Not with a lazy mom who never wanted to do anything because she was too tired or too big to do it.  Honestly, I'm feeling better already.
