I've been moving right along in this 5k training and feeling better after each workout. Today was to be Week 4 day 3. We run 3 days a week (Tues/Thurs with the class, Sat. independently) and I also have been doing some weight training Mon/Wed/Fri at the Y. I was about 15 minutes into my 30 minute routine this afternoon (3 min run/1 min walk, alternating) when something just didn't feel right. The muscle behind my right knee & up the back of my thigh kinda hurts. Not excruciatingly so, but enough that I needed to stop the run. I called hubs (having run 3 marathons, he is my personal running expert) & he agreed I should rest today and pick it up tomorrow. Better to rest when something doesn't quite feel right, than to risk a real injury.
Is it weird that I'm kind of bummed I couldn't finish today?!
And I still hate running, in case you were thinking that last sentence meant I like it.
