Secrets, Tri's and Zumba

OK, readers.  I'm about to share something with you, but you have to promise you won't tell anyone, OK?!

I LIKE running!

There, I said it.

Note, I didn't say I love it.  I don't ever think I will LOVE it.  Given the choice between running and ... well, just about anything else I will probably still choose the something else.  However, running has given me a purpose.  A new sense of self.  A feeling of accomplishment.  As you can see by the little ticker over to the right there ------>  I've lost almost 44 lbs!  That's the equivalent of my 7 1/2 yr old son!

Sunday, I will compete in my first ever triathlon.  It's a super sprint distance - 250 yd swim (5 laps/10 lengths), 7.5 mile bike ride and 2 mile run.  I'm excited because I feel really ready and like I can hold my own and not make a fool of myself.  I'm also feeling a little anxious and nervous, but that's to be expected.  I can't wait to share the experience with you, my reader's.

Oh, before I sign off.  Ha!  I tried Zumba today with my friend, JA.  OH BOY!  I am an uncoordinated white girl!  This white girl can NOT dance.  However, I do have the J-Lo booty, so I guess I'll learn to use my assets (pun intended!).  I had fun and it felt like a great workout.  I'm hoping I'm not too sore tomorrow!  I will definitely do it again.
