Breaking in the bike trainer

Did I tell you that I bought a used bike trainer a couple of months ago at a yard sale?  Do you even know what a bike trainer is?  I didn't until I started researching them after hearing D talk about hers.  With 3 kiddos, I needed a way to ride my bike when I'm not able to get out of the house.  A bike trainer is the solution.  It's basically a stand that you put your back tire/wheel on and it allows you to ride, without ever leaving your living room.  They can be a little expensive, so when I saw this one at a yard sale, I snapped it up.  I've tested it out, trying to get the feel for how it works, but today is the first time I actually used it for a complete workout.

The YMCA is closed today in observance of the holiday, so I couldn't swim or run (too hot to run outside, anyway).  Once Rocky & Rambo finished the little bit of homeschooling we wanted to get done today and Baby Girl was down for a nap, I pulled out the trainer.  Now, I don't have a bike computer or any way to measure how far I rode, but I pulled up a TV show on Netflix & just rode for the full 40 minutes it was on.  I'm guessing I probably did 9 or 10 miles, because I can usually do 8 in 30 minutes on the bike at the Y.  Either way, my legs felt kind of jello-like when I got off, so it must have been a good workout.
